Realme 1 to Realme 2: A worst downgrade by the Brand apart from a notch display

The brand has the ability to create a disaster in the Indian smartphone market but, they disappointed the consumer by launching Realme 2 with notch display. Since the declaration of the launch date of the phone, the hype was created in the market that indicates a decent device by Realme. Today, Realme 2 announced at the starting price tag of Rs. 8,999 includes 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage and another variant priced at Rs. 10,999 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone will be Flipkart exclusive and will be available on 4th September. Though, the Company is planning to launch the Realme 2 Pro version soon let’s see how notch it will be.

Realme 2 with notch display

The phone is powered by an Octa-Core chipset Snapdragon 450 which is not worth to upgrade over Realme 1 that has a lot more powerful chipset called helio P60. The device seems to be a small brother of Realme 1, not the successor. A notch display makes it the only phone under 10k to feature a 19:9 panel with the display size of 6.2-inches and the resolution is HD+. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass as they said.

On the optics front, it has dual rear sensor 13+2MP with the aperture of f/2.2 and f/2.4 respectively. On the front is an 8MP single sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras are able to capture shots in bokeh mode. The phone is running on Android Oreo 8.1 with the layering of Color OS 5.1.

It supports Dual VoLte and has a triple card slot for the SIM and microSD card. In terms of battery, there is an increment in battery numbers from 3,400mAh to 4,230mAh in Realme 2. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

If you own Realme 1 then, it is not worth to upgrade to realme 2 as it is less powerful. but, if your priority is Notch Display and the better camera then you may go for it.
