Oppo Realme 1 shines up with Helio P60: Full Review

Oppo Realme 1

Overview of Realme 1

The Brand Realme that comes without any well-known identity in the smartphone Environment has created a benchmark in the Hottest Smartphone segment which is under 15K with its latest device called Realme 1. The phone offers a lot as compared to the competition and also beats Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro in some segments, we will talk about it later. For your information, the Realme was founded in the year of 2010 as a sub-brand of Oppo.

Let first look at the design of the Realme 1, the diamond cut design of the back panel gives you a premium feel in the hands while on the other hand, it got scratched easily because of the use of the fibreglass at the back. On the bottom, micro USB houses along with the 3.5mm audio jack which is immensely decent at this price bracket even its headphone jack quality beat some flagships as well. A single speaker also spots at the bottom which is loud but not much impressive.

On the display front, it packs a 6-inch FULL HD display which is an IPS LCD with 402 ppi and has an aspect ratio of 18:9. If we talk about the Screen protection then, previously it was rumoured that it doesn’t have any protection but as our conversation with the giant, it has clarified that the Oppo Realme 1 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The main aim of the user to buy a phone is to call no matter which phone and the realme 1 will not disappoint you from the calling front.

In terms of Specification, Realme 1 offers a chipset from MediaTek called Helio P60 which is basically an Octa-core chip clocked at 2GHz but, surprisingly it performs decently from other MediaTek chipsets and power efficient as well. The chipset provides the very similar performance like Qualcomm’s Mid-range SOC Snapdragon 660 but in some sections, it lags behind but, it doesn’t mean the chipset is underrated. The handset can easily handle regular day to day tasks and performed very decent in our review even doesn’t lag while heavy usage. But, will get disappointment in the multitasking as it has some minor issue in the ram management but Realme will definitely, short out this issue as soon as possible in their upcoming update. It provides you 128GB of inbuilt storage along with 6GB RAM variant and 4GB RAM variant offers 64GB of internal storage, expandable via micro SD card up to 256GB.

On the benchmark front, it can easily beat the competition with its excellent benchmark numbers which is slightly touching to the 1,40,000 in Antutu.Oppo Realme 1 Benchmark

For the Smooth Gaming Experience, Realme 1 came out with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU that can easily handle games like PUBG, Asphalt 9, Modern Combat, etc at the high graphics setting. Meanwhile, in our review, we have noticed some minor frame drops in PUBG at high graphics settings but, it can be ignored if you are not a hardcore gamer. In Asphalt 9 Legends, we haven’t noticed any lags but, it doesn’t support Oppo’s Game acceleration programme so, you will not get any boost for Asphalt 9. Heating is very minimal as compared to other phones at this price tag. Thanks to Oppo’s Game acceleration that enhanced the gaming experience and will enjoy gaming without any disturbance.

As it is the device that comes from Oppo’s environment, the UI is pretty similar to IOS named ColorOS running version 5.0 in Realme 1. Android version of the phone is 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Additional features include face unlock which is decently fast and able to unlock at the dim lighting condition. A smart feed is there that provide you with the info of your order that you have placed online and you can customize according to your needs. A step counter also present but we didn’t test it whether it provides accurate details or not.

A selfie-obsessed person could be disappointed with its 8MP front shooter when it comes to the portrait shoot as doesn’t have a dual camera but a shooter is optimized and able to shoot bokeh images but not much accurate while detecting the edges. Overall a front sensor is able to take some quality pictures in outdoor as well as can perform decently in indoor conditions. On the rear, a 13MP single sensor provided by Realme as we discussed earlier, there is no dual camera but the pictures are very sharp and well saturated.

In the above images, clearly identified that the colour reproduction is great but the edge detection in the portrait mode is below average that was clicked by the front-facing camera.

It has 3,410mAh battery along with the support of AI battery management that enhance the efficiency of the phone and can last up to 1.5 days easily with a single charge. The AI battery management disables the unused apps to provide you with a great battery backup without any heating. Charging time is almost 2.5 hours because it doesn’t have any quick charging support from the Oppo.
